Introducing a tangle: Shan by Theresa Fleming.

Theresa shared this new tangle with me, and here is the story behind it.

“I made this tangle to honor Barbara Langston, for all her hard work and effort, love for Zentangle.
Barbara is so creative, kind and understanding for beginners.

I had sent Barbara a tangle to see what she thinks and she saw the tangle I was creating for her. Barbara didn’t know that I was working this one for her. Barbara asked about it. I told her that I was just messing around. Barbara loved it.

So then I told her that I was working on this new tangle to honor her. I asked her if she had a nickname…she told me about being called Shan. Shan is a nickname that Barbara’s mother called her and her uncle also.”

Introducing a new tangle: Hearts and Squares by Di Whitley.

Di wrote me about possibly creating a new tangle and if I could take a look see if there is something out there. I checked, but in my mind, if you have to ask then while there may be something similar, usually they are constructed differently and that counts. She created two tangles, this and Hearts and Triangles.

She also mentioned that she had a great friend that committed suicide. This was the inspiration and I want to dedicate this to Di’s friend and all hearts that are broken. Let’s make something beautiful!

We don’t know what the next moment holds. Let’s make these heart tangles heal those who need it!
