Introducing a new tangle: Jackie

On this week’s Tangle Time sessions, we are having another World Premier! Another amazing tangle by Debbi Minero, Jackie.

In her post, Debbi says “This new tangle is named after my mama. Every time I draw it feels like a hug from her. Inspired by the two flower spinners in my yard.” That makes this the perfect time to introduce this tangle to you, as this weekend (in the USA) is Mother’s Day. Share it with the Moms in your life, or use it as a meditation or something to honor your Mom – either way, I hope you enjoy this!

Here’s the inspiration:

… and here’s how to do it!

Have fun with this and when you post, please use #jackie (and #tangleaddicts if you don’t mind.)

Introducing a new tangle: Dahlly

On today’s Tangle Time sessions, we are premiering another wonderful tangle by CZT Alyssa Herget.

Back in January we introduced Dahllylite because the beginning stages of Dahlly made me think of a snowflake and I was prepping for our Winter Snowflakes Class. Alyssa in all her amazingness, created Dahllylite and we featured it in that class. NOW, we properly introduce the precursor, Dahlly! Here is the story from Alyssa:

“The original tangle I was working on was playing with the Holly Leaves from the tangle Meriberries that we did. I ended up putting them in a circle, like how this started, and I kept blooming it outward. It kept going after this step, and turned into a beautiful flower that looked close to the Dahlia flower. So I combined Dahlia + Holly to come up with Dahlly. The pronunciation of “Dahlly” sounds like “Dolly” which is also what my dad used to call me when I was growing up, so it’s a bit of a nod to him as well. :)”

When you post your work, make sure to use #dahlly and tag Alyssa. If you are on Instagram, make sure to follow @alydoodleCZT while you are there!

Here is Alyssa’s step-out:

I had been staring at the same source of inspiration for years, but Mom decided to deconstruct it while she was in the hospital waiting room when my Dad had his knee replace. (He’s doing well!)

Here is the inspiration:

Yes, you are correct, this is toilet paper. LOL. Here is the step-out:

Introducing a new tangle: Siggy’s Flower

On today’s Tangle Time sessions, it was World Premier Day!! We premiered another wonderful tangle by Cassie Armstrong, Siggy’s Flower. It’s gorgeous!!!

Cassie’s inspiration came from a curtain in the show “The Vikings”

Here’s what Cassie wrote when sharing her tangle on the TangleAddicts Community group.

“Yesterday I said I had a surprise. As most of you know grids are not my thing, it’s not that I don’t like them, I just have a hard time with them due to my disability issues. So creating a tangle that is done in a grid pattern this is a big deal for me. It took a while and a lot of hard work on my part but it all worked out in the end. On that note here’s Siggy’s Flower.”

I know you want to give it a try! Here’s how to do it:

Introducing a new tangle: HHuGz

On today’s Tangle Time sessions, It’s World Premier Day!! We are premiering another wonderful tangle by Debbi Minero, HHuGz. It’s gorgeous!!!

Debbi, thank YOU for your kind words and thoughtfulness with this tangle. I’m just going to share the text from Debbi’s post when she presented it:

“Sometimes you come across people (virtually or in person) that inspires you to step out of your cozy and safe box….to do something that you know would be an extreme challenge. You have that fear of failure, that negative voice creeps in, but you push it all down because you hear someone say, “if I can do it, so can you. I don’t know how to draw, I am not an artist”. I think, boy can I relate. Before you know it, you are hooked, you are addicted and by all counts, you are an artist, a Tangle artist, drawing one pen stroke at a time. TangleAddicts – Heather Hartwick-Gladden, CZT you are a true inspiration, your laugh is infectious, you made me believe I could, so I did…
#HHuGz is yours. You welcome everyone with arms opened wide, you embrace each of us and encourage us to keep going especially when we are own worst critics. I hope you like your name sake!

I LOVE my name sake. It’s gorgeous!! Thank you Debbi!!!

Introducing a new tangle: Cherie

On today’s Tangle Time sessions, we are premiering another wonderful tangle by Debbi Minero, Cherie. (Actually, it’s a double header today – I posted the first one earlier, Amor Armour.) This is such a delicate, and fun tangle. Just gorgeous.

Debbi was so sweet to send me this note along with the Step-out and samples:
“In honor of your mom, her support and the inspiration she brings to the art. Yesterday’s class with the swirly curly border with heart flowers. Searched, but didn’t find anything identical. A few close kinda sorta. So if there is nothing, it is hers.”

There are a lot of tangles that are similiar, but there’s always something a little different that makes it an original tangle. Thank you, Debbi for honoring Mom with this namesake tangle.

Here’s is the a sample of Mom’s work from the class, 3D Heart, Debbi referenced.
