Every year, while others are carving pumpkins, I like to draw on decorative ones – sometimes plastic and sometimes flat wood cut outs. (They last a lot longer!)

Also, every year, when doing in-person classes, I would hold a pumpkin decorating class. Had to get creative this year! So for this session, I offered the suggestion to those attending this special session, that they could tangle on whatever medium they chose. I was lucky to have my Mom, Cherie, on for at least the beginning of both sessions so she could show her wonderful work and discuss pens to use, things to consider in a plastic pumpkin, etc.

What pens work best on plastic pumpkins, you ask? IDenti-pens, other permanent markers and paint pens work best. Test them on the bottom of the pumpkin, not only to see how they write on the surface, but drying time too. For wood cut outs, I found that any pens work great and I don’t have to treat the wood first. I use the Microns and Gelly Rolls by Sakura – especially the Glaze, Soufflé and other’s that create a raised effect. Super cool!!

We went through an amazing 6 tangles in our 2 hour session. I divided them up in to 2 sections:

Autumn Tangles: Afterglo, Pendrills, and Ynix.

Spooky Tangles: Btl Joos, Inapod, and Gutz.
